Ikea

I am very happy with my latest purchases from Ikea. I love the color and the pom poms of the carpet. I have been searching for the designer with no result. Anyway, the carpet is in our playroom in progress and I will show the result soon.

Multifunctional and happy baskets/stools/tables. I love it when designers use old and ordinary objects and turn them into something new and surprising. These baskets, I by Emma Hedberg, made me smile and fantasize about warm summer evenings by the sea. exhibition

I just wanted to tell you that Jenny Almén Gunnerfeldt (blogged earlier here) is having an exhibition showing her pillows and drawings at TjallaMalla, Stockholm. Starting today. Her pillows are all made of vintage fabric and every pillow is an original drawing.

weather report

Very strange weather here today. The sun was shining through my kitchen window on this cone lying on the counter. The next moment snow is whirling outside and now while writing this it's all still again. The sky graphite grey.

Origami

My big girl got this book, Origami For Kids - easy and fun step by step projects, for her birthday. Today we folded a lot of hats. It was fun until I tried the San-pou, candy box. It was not at all easy and fun. I made the same mistake over and over again and I havn't given it up but I think I'll have to practise alone. Mamma, are you angry with the paper? Of course not. Anyway, then I folded a heart and we took pictures of happy softies in hats. That was easy. And very fun.

The curtains in this home are made of Swedish Army white snow camo net from Surplus and Adventure. I like it. I also like the color combo - rust-red, black and green - in the top image.

Summer time is coming up and I noticed while going through my recent photos that our windows are not at all prepared for light. I can't remember the last time we cleaned them. Obviously.

Rock 7

Hironori Tsukue has made it possible to use the famous "Sjuan" chair as a rocker. I love Tsukue's work in collaboration with Sara Berner (from 2007). And these lamps together with Erik Tidäng and Tobias Birgersson are amazing.

Birthday

Today was all about presents, breakfast in bed, balloons, favourite food and choklate cake. Some jealousy too. I didn't take that picture though.
"Now it's over" she said just before falling asleep. One of those moments when your children bring your own childhood back.
