I have seen a lot of white the last couple of days. At the chiropractor's and in my bed staring at the ceiling. It's my back, I don't know the English word, lumbago?
Anyway, here are some more enjoyable whites. Flowers, a broom and my youngest child's hair from last summer.

I have spent an unusual amount of time on my own this weekend. Walks in the woods, reading, drawing and baking. I finished rereading Donna Tartt's The Secret History. It was as fascinating and absorbing to read it now as reading it for the first time in my early twenties. What a fantastic author.

From last Saturday. On our way home from riding school we drive through a beech forest. I have heard that this particular one is Europe's most northern located. Beeches are more common in the southern parts of Sweden. I googled and it seems like there are quite a few places claiming to harbour the northernmost beech forest. I am sure they are all equally beautiful.

I am trying to organize all my saved pictures. It's a mess. I have like 10 different folders named inspiration1, inspiration2 and so on. While writing this I am getting a strong feeling of deja vu so maybe I have posted about this before. Not been able to do anything about it obviously. Anyway, these should have been saved in a bedside or bedroom folder. Better get them out before I loose them forever. I am fairly sure I havn't posted them before.

at friends

We went visiting dear old friends today. They live on the countryside a 40 minutes car ride from our home. The surroundings are beautiful. Old barns, cows, mansions, horses, croplands, small villages. Their house is amazing. I think it's about a 100 years old. They do almost all the renovations and restorations themselves and their taste is both stylish and very down to earth. My friend is a great aesthete and also a very talanted and skilled photographer. The greatest would be to show you her own photos of her house.

I am ending this week's blogging with a rather bad photo of a favourite spot in my home. The golden baby boy is my husband anno 1973 on the cover of Vi föräldrar (Parent magazine). Precious.

September. Evenings getting chilly and dark. Fumbling around in the kitchen cupboards looking for the candle holders. Towards the end of September maybe light a fire in the tile stove. Eating a lot of blueberries and mushrooms. Drinking tea and red wine. And walking around the garden in the mornings before work enjoying the blooming roses covered in dew and soft September light.

I think this is the home of a Marie Claire Maison reader but I am only guessing since the French I may have learned in school is long gone. Anyway I like these photos and this small apartment (24m2)very much.

weekend

I've had the greatest september weekend. Soft light and warm evenings. I love this month. We've celebrated a birthday, been to riding school, cooked a lot of really tasty food, bought the kids some new clothes and I tried ethiopian food for the first time. It was delicious. Hope your weekend was great too.
