friday
A friday photo bomb. Just for the fun of it. And because my home is in such a messy state that I need to focus on the small details. This weekend I will try different squash recipes. We have loads(squash, not recipes. I guess it would be better the other way around). And I am reading such a fantastic book, The Master, by Colm Toibin. Only a few pages left and I have been so absorbed. Have you read it?

No, I haven't, I'll look it up. My house is (was) also in a dreadful mess, but I had a guest coming from the US, and spent the whole afternoon on a huge clean our ... I wish I'd thought of asking that he just focus on the small details:)! Well, now I have an (almost) clean and tidy house. How long for? Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love this collection of photos! I'm also jealous that you have loads of squash... yum!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read The Master, but I'm always looking for another book to add to my reading list, so I'll definitely check it out.
Oh, I adore Colm Toibin - he's one of our loveliest writers. Brooklyn is amazing too (and longlisted for the 2009 Booker).
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots! Love how you look at things!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful weekend!
So kindergarden is the grade before 1st grade here in the states. Usually the kids start at 5 or 6. Luxe could have started last year but we thought it would be more advantageous if she were a bit older. That way in the upper grades she'll be one of the older kids. She goes monday through friday for 2 1/2 hours in the morning. You can have your kids go all day if you wish. Is this like nursery for you all? I'd love to learn about how your school system works!
The blanket/throw draped on the white chair looks very pretty.
ReplyDeleteLovely peeks. I haven't read The Master, either. But I will check it out. It's always great to get recommendations on new books. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are simple and pretty. Love them! I have never heard about the book either. I will check it out...
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend! oxox

Jane Flanagan: I'll check out Brooklyn, thanks!
Le blÖg: Of course no mess, the camera never lies, right? :-)
Fine Little Day: Jag är glad varje dag över att det sitter på min vägg.
nicola: yes, all of the photos are from very small areas in my home
I have not read the book, or know of any squash recipes ... seems I am batting zero!
ReplyDeleteThough I must say your photos are so much fun and I love how a story emerges when the two are set side by side :)
lovely advice: to focus on the little details. i 'll need to do that more, when the house is all messed up ;)
ReplyDeleteoh, and i love love love the little details in your house, absolutely beautiful!
great photos, your house must be so beautiful! i'm really intrigued by the blackberries and the delicate pattern of the backdrop (a tabletop, a plate?). and that framed print, is that from studio violet?
